PLAYZER Media Ltd is committed to providing safe, welcoming and respectful environments for all participants, performers, staff, volunteers and audience members at our events and programmes.
This policy outlines how we protect children, young people and vulnerable adults, and how we ensure appropriate conduct in all PLAYZER Media activities, including Start 2 Stage® and related live music events.
1. Our Commitment
We believe that:
Everyone has the right to feel safe and respected
Children and young people must be protected from harm
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility
Clear boundaries and professional conduct are essential in live event environments
2. Scope of This Policy
This policy applies to:
All PLAYZER Media staff and volunteers
All performers and participants
All venues and partner organisations we work with
All events, workshops and live music experiences operated by PLAYZER Media
3. Under-18 Participation
Where participants are under the age of 18:
A parent or legal guardian must provide consent before participation
Under-18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult unless otherwise agreed in writing
PLAYZER Media does not provide supervision or childcare
Under-18s will never be left alone with staff, volunteers, or other participants
Communication regarding participation will be directed through the parent or guardian
4. Appropriate Conduct
All individuals involved in PLAYZER Media events are expected to:
Treat others with respect and dignity
Maintain appropriate language and behaviour at all times
Avoid any situation that could be misinterpreted or place a young person at risk
Follow venue safeguarding rules in addition to this policy
Any behaviour that is inappropriate, unsafe, discriminatory or abusive will result in immediate removal from the event.
5. Photography, Video and Media
No images or recordings of under-18s will be used without explicit parental consent
Media captured at events will be used responsibly and respectfully
Participants may opt out of media capture at any time
6. Reporting Concerns
Any safeguarding concerns, incidents or inappropriate behaviour should be reported immediately to:

All concerns will be taken seriously and handled promptly, discreetly and professionally.
Where necessary, concerns may be passed to venue management or relevant authorities.
7. Working with Venues and Partners
PLAYZER Media works closely with venues, councils and arts organisations. We respect and adhere to all venue-specific safeguarding policies in addition to our own.
8. Review
This policy is reviewed regularly to ensure it remains current, appropriate and effective.
